Little Chums offers full day childcare, along with the flexibility of morning and afternoon sessions or even rota sessions if your work requires it! We also offer earlier starts and later finishes.
We are registered with CSSIW to provide care for children aged 0 to 12.
Little Chums believes that learning through play and use of the outdoor environment is an essential part of children’s development. A range of activities will be provided to all of our children, with our planning displayed on our planning board.

Little Chums takes the safety of it’s children very seriously. We have 24 hour recording CCTV, bio-metric entry on our main door and buzzer/intercom systems.
As well as 3 play areas, Little Chums has extensive use the of the land on which it occupies, totaling just under 2 acres. This includes a private nature trail, small woodland area and private, field areas.
Our separate baby room provide a cosy, nurturing environment where parents can be reassured that their “precious little ones” are cared for by our qualified and experienced key workers.
We aim to follow your home routines to ensure continuity for your child. We have a separate sleep room and changing area for the sole use of babies.
Our separate toddler room provides a warm relaxed environment for curious little minds to explore and develop with the aid of our qualified and experienced staff.
Our toddlers also enjoy the sole use of one of our 3 outdoor areas, with age appropriate equipment.
Our separate pre-school building offers a wide range of activities to extend development and to provide opportunities for various experiences.
We believe in placing great emphasis on learning through play and the outdoor environment. Our pre-school children have sole use of their own outdoor area, with age appropriate equipment.
Little Chums offers free “settling in” visits before your child’s official start date in order for you to meet your child’s key worker.
These visits enable you and, most importantly, your child to become familiar with their new and exciting environment as well as offering an opportunity to become acquainted with a friendly, caring member of staff.
Nursery Wrap Around
Little Chums operates a wrap around service to selected nurseries and schools. We will take/collect your child to/from school for their morning or afternoon session and care for them at Little Chums for the rest of the day. This includes snacks and meals as necessary.
Little Chums currently serves New Inn Primary, Ysgol Panteg (both sites) and Griffithstown Primary.
Our holiday clubs are open to all, not just those whose siblings use our other services, and open all year round.
Activities are theme based using arts and crafts, outdoor games, visits to local libraries and other excursions will be incorporated into the programme according to weather conditions. Breakfast, lunch, small snacks and afternoon tea will be provided.
After School Club
Little Chums collects children when their school day finishes and brings them back to our premises where they will be provided with drinks and afternoon tea.
Activities will be theme based and when requested, help with homework can be given. Arrival and departure between your chosen booked times are at your discretion.
Little Chums recognises the importance of providing a well balanced and nutritious diet. All of our meals are freshly prepared by our experienced cook, who is also a family member. No salt or sugar is added in the preparation or cooking of our meals. We ensure a varied menu which operates on a two-weekly rota and is displayed on our notice board in the entrance hall and on the private section of this website.
A full day care session includes breakfast, morning snack, lunch and dessert, afternoon snack and afternoon tea.

Fresh drinking water and milk is available throughout the day, along with a range of fruit, from the snack table in the main play areas.
Special dietary requirements can be discussed directly with our cook, in conjunction with a senior member of staff.
We engage regularly with and are inspected annually by Torfaen Environemtal Health. We currenty hold a rating of ‘Good’.
